Sage Upstate addresses the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) Central New Yorkers as they age. We offer health and wellness programming, support groups, education, and social activities for LGBTQ people and allies. We also provide education for health care providers and other audiences about the needs of older LGBTQ people. Since seniors in the population are more likely to live alone and less likely to have the support of children or other biological family members than other aging populations, Sage Upstate strives to provide opportunities for creating support networks through safe and affirming social activities. In addition, we collaborate with other organizations in a statewide network to better represent and serve LGBTQ individuals and families across the state.
